Prague - Prague 12 is preparing the construction of a sports and recreational complex between Rakovského Primary School and the Píšovice Forest. The complex is intended to serve schools in the morning and the public in the afternoon. The plan was approved by the representatives of the municipal district at the last meeting. Prague 12 estimates the construction costs at around 40 million crowns. Hana Jandová (TOP 09), the deputy mayor of Prague 12, told ČTK. The area where the sports facility is to be built is currently, according to Jandová, overgrown with wild-growing trees. There are also remnants of smaller buildings and original playgrounds. "In the second half there are two courts with artificial surfaces, which are managed by the primary school. The main problem is the great devastation of these courts due to the remoteness of the location," the deputy mayor stated. A new athletic track, a small traffic playground, a track for rollerblading lessons, and other courts, including one for marbles, are expected to be built on the site. The slope towards the school will be adjusted as a natural grandstand. Plans also include the construction of facilities, landscaping, and the addition of benches. A part of the complex will be locked at night. The municipal district would like to obtain part of the funding from European funds, and the local council has approved the submission of the application. If the city hall receives support, construction will begin in the second half of next year. If not, the renovation of the complex will be spread over a longer time period.
