PPF sold the project of the tallest Czech skyscrapers in Chodov

Prague - The PPF Group has sold the project for the tallest Czech skyscrapers in Prague's Chodov district. The land for the Prague Eye project, which included two office towers, was sold due to the difficulties in passing through the authorities. This was reported today by the E15.cz website, which confirmed the information about the transaction with PPF spokesperson Zuzana Migdalová. The buyer of the project, owned by the richest Czech Petr Kellner, was not disclosed by the group.

The design of the buildings was created by the architectural office CMC architects. The taller of the planned skyscrapers was set to be nearly 139 meters tall, while the second tower was to be 11 meters shorter. According to E15, the PPF Group abandoned large projects in the capital because it could not push them through the authorities.

"When a developer wants to build skyscrapers in areas where the zoning plan does not allow it, it is understandable that they will hit a wall," said councilor and chairman of the commission for strategic urban planning in Prague 11, Aleš Kulhánek. However, according to E15.cz, the newly published proposal for the Metropolitan Plan includes construction in Chodov. It allows for buildings up to 27 stories high, which is approximately the height of the City Tower on Pankrác, or 109 meters.

Through this transaction, the PPF Group completed its exit from large real estate projects in Prague. In the case of the administrative project at Vítězné náměstí and land in Trojmezí, a sale has been agreed with former PPF manager Karel Pražák. According to earlier information, E15 reports that Pražák also wants to purchase the Prague Eye project.

However, according to the website, PPF is not completely withdrawing from Prague real estate by abandoning its largest projects. For example, it is renovating a historic building at Pařížská 22, which will feature shops for the wealthiest customers and luxury apartments.
