We cordially invite you on March 6, 2020, at 6:00 PM to the book launch of “Vila Jenny a Josefa Winternitzových / Adolf Loos, Karel Lhota, 1931–1932" and the vernissage of paintings by Dominique Chapuis. The publication will be ceremonially presented by the rector of UMPRUM, Prof. Jindřich Vybíral, editors Lada Hubatová-Vacková and Valentýna Nikolenko, and David Cysař. The book is a monograph dedicated to the Winternitz villa. It is the result of teamwork involving several students and alumni of the AAAD under the guidance of Lada Hubatová-Vacková. The book presents the dramatic story of a Jewish family, as well as the subsequent life in the villa during the Protectorate, after the war, in the 1950s, and up to the present day. At the same time, there will be a vernissage of paintings by the prominent French artist Dominique Chapuis. The installation presents an intimate dialogue of white objects of extraordinary structure with this functionalist house. The exhibition was prepared by curators Tadeáš Goryczka and Jaroslav Němec from the Architecture Cabinet. More information can be found in the attached press release. The evening will include refreshments and a concert by the band Meadow Avenue.
