Plzeň - Plzeň will this year spend 30 million crowns from last year's surplus on preparing project documentation for up to 15 investments totaling six to seven billion crowns. Jiří Uhlík, the technical deputy mayor, told ČTK.

"We are starting many project preparations so that we have issued zoning decisions and can apply for money from regional operational programs and other EU funds," he added. According to Uhlík, the project preparation for the action will cost approximately two million kronor for a project worth 200 million crowns. Next year, land acquisitions will follow.
"We have a tram line to the West Bohemian University, we need to acquire land for the western ring road, and preparations are underway for a thoroughfare through the city," Uhlík mentioned. Already next year, the actions could have building permits.
In addition to the ring road for two billion and the tram line for 400 million crowns, according to Mayor Pavel Rödla, money from the EU should go to the expansion of the wastewater treatment plant for 800 million crowns. A relaxation center on the banks of the Mže, including the revitalization of the Štruncovy sady sports area, connection to the brewery, and a park in Roudná, is expected to cost up to 800 million. A new theater will require half a billion crowns, and approximately 120 million will be spent on a trolleybus line to Borská pole.
Plzeň plans to invest 400 million crowns this year. "The city is neither starting nor ending any projects; it is mostly finishing constructions that started last year," stated the deputy mayor. This mainly concerns the paving of the Republic Square, the expansion of the sports hall in Slovany, and the renewal of Částková Street from the roundabout to Slovanská Avenue. The long-prepared reconstruction of Americká třída for 150 million crowns will be started by the city hall only next year. About 50 million crowns from this year's development fund is blocked for it.
