Petrovice - Petrovice in Příbram region is preparing to repair the fountain in the square, which currently lacks water. The goal is to build a fountain with water that will enhance the square and provide refreshment for pedestrians on hot summer days. This was stated by the mayor Petr Štěpánek (STAN) to ČTK.

The new fountain could take the form of stone slabs from which water will spout. "Thanks to this, the climate in the square will improve, and children will have fun there," said Štěpánek. At the same time, the fountain should serve as a drinking spot for birds.

The municipality has six architectural designs available, and the public could also participate in the selection. However, only 64 voters, including children, participated in the survey, which is considered too few by Štěpánek.

The councilors are likely to choose from the designs in September. "It is an investment between one and two million crowns in a normal variant. In some dream variants, it should be even more," said the mayor.

He reminded that there has always been some water in the square, whether it was a village puddle, a fenced fire reservoir, or a fountain that was created there during World War II. Later, it underwent several modifications, and a central fountain was added. However, the fountain became non-functional, and the water disappeared from it.
