The city council of Jindřichův Hradec decided on February 15, 2017, to address the modifications to Míru square according to the study by the design office P-atelier. This proposal emerged with 471 votes as the winner from an online survey on the city’s website. Two projects were submitted for the survey, which were selected by a dependent working group from five submitted studies. A total of 10 local and randomly selected design offices were contacted by the city.
We believe that the historic square at the very heart of the heritage conservation area deserves a quality architectural proposal. This can be achieved through a regular and transparent architectural competition, which the city is avoiding. The approach chosen by the city of Jindřichův Hradec in this matter has not produced a quality solution to the situation.
This petition aims to highlight that there is a significant number of people in Jindřichův Hradec who are interested in public affairs. People who care about the quality of public space in their city.

The petition was compiled as part of the initiative #jetoitvojeměsto
