Lysice - Heritage officials will open new spaces at the castle in Lysice in the Blanensko region this year. An example is the entrance to the wooden corner turret or access to the terrace above the sala terrena. The ceremonial opening of the gates of Lysice Castle is planned for Saturday, said curator Martina Rudolfová to ČTK. "The current offer for visitors is in the spirit of revealing and making accessible spaces that have not been presented to the public yet," said the curator. According to her, visitors to the castle garden will see the restored loggia at the sala terrena, the restoration of which the heritage officials completed in the fall, along with the restoration of the last part of the facade of the main building of the castle.
For it, the heritage officials chose ochre coloring from the early 20th century. "This offers an interesting color contrast with the earlier Baroque coloring in the current form of the eastern, southern, and part of the western wing," Rudolfová stated.
Experts are preparing the restoration of the interiors of the sala terrena for six million crowns. The restoration is expected to take two years, after which the Mannerist space will serve for wedding ceremonies and concerts.
The southern facade and windows are also partially set for restoration. "We are intensively working on a project for an application for the restoration of the castle garden and gardening for 110 million CZK, which we would like to submit next year, and if we are successful, the construction, gardening, and restoration work should again take two to three years," the curator said. According to her, the goal is to present the castle garden, including architectural elements, as a historical garden from the late 19th century.
Attendance at Lysice Castle has been increasing in recent years, with 32,457 people visiting last year. The Saturday opening of the visitor season is associated with the launch of a year-round exhibition of unconventional artworks by naive painters from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Israel, Finland, and Romania.
