Organizations Open House Praha and Krenovka invite you to another joint debate in the series Openly About Prague, which this time will focus on adaptation to climate change.

We are in the era of climate change, which we have triggered through our actions over the last century. We are not yet able to foresee all its consequences, but it is certain that it will fundamentally affect us. Many of the manifestations we are already experiencing firsthand. Given that our society is urbanized, it will be essential for us how we will be able to adapt life in the cities to changing climatic conditions. What is the current plan of Prague to mitigate the impacts of climate change, and what steps is it taking to improve the city's resilience to extreme climate events, such as floods or heat waves?

These are just some of the questions that will be raised at this year's last panel debate from the series Openly About Prague, which will take place in the spaces of Čítárny Unijazz.

Panelists:
• Ing. Jana Komrsková – Deputy Mayor of the Capital City of Prague responsible for the environment and climate plan; chairwoman of the Committee for Infrastructure, Technical Equipment, and Environment of the City Council of Prague
• Mgr. Petra Kolínská – Director (in office) of the Green Circle, where she coordinates the project Changing Climate in Legislation for our municipalities and cities; from 2007 to 2014 worked at the State Fund for Environmental Protection
• Ing. arch. Anna Vinklárková – specialist of the “Prague – a City for Life” campaign at the Arnika; focuses on informing and engaging the public, Metropolitan Plan, the future of large brownfields, or problematic decision-making by authorities
• RNDr. Michaela Pixová, Ph.D. – teaches, among other things, at the Department of Sociology FSV UK; as an activist and journalist, she focuses on urban restructuring, social movements, feminism, environmental crisis, and socio-ecological transformation

The debate will be moderated by the lecturer of year-round events at Open House Praha Michal Šedivý.

The video recording of the event is provided by the media partner of the debate, the portal ESTAV.cz and estav.tv.
