ARCHITECTURE DAY 2013 OFFCITY TRIP: MADE IN FINLAND
Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 2:00 PM, meeting at the bus stop of MHD No. 6 - Ohrazenice stop, Semtínská
In Ohrazenice, a small village between Pardubice and the developing chemical plants in Semtín and Rybitví, stands a colony of Finnish houses that was built here in the early 1950s.
On the walk through Pardubice's Finland with architect Ondřej Teplý and architectural historian František R. Václavík, you can learn details about the journey of the houses from Finland, how this type of wooden construction evolved in Finland, and how the local colony was created. At the same time, we will discuss the current form and possibilities for the future modernization of the settlement.
