Rožnov p. R. - The burned-down Libušín in Pustevny in the Beskids could potentially open to the public at the beginning of next year after its restoration. One of the dates being considered is the anniversary of the fire at the beginning of March. Jindřich Ondruš, the director of the Wallachian Open-Air Museum in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm in the Vsetín region, which manages Libušín, stated this to journalists today. The cottage, built in 1899 according to the design of architect Dušan Jurkovič, burned down in the night from March 2 to 3, 2014.

Construction of the new Libušín began in the summer of 2017. "We would like to complete the construction work on the restoration of Libušín by October of this year," Ondruš said. According to him, after that, the installation of gastro facilities and interior furnishings will follow, as well as the completion of construction approval. Currently, interior work is being done in the building, such as plastering, electrical installations, floor constructions, and security systems. Companies have already been selected to supply furniture and gastro equipment.

An interesting feature will be the system that will extinguish any potential fire using gas. For this reason, a special foil is placed in the building to prevent gas leaks. In the event of a fire, the technology will release gas that will extinguish the fire. "It is a unique technology in the country. We have already tested it in practice, and it works," said Milan Gesierich, the technical deputy of the museum to ČTK.

The restoration of Libušín is expected to cost 100 million crowns. The building will have slightly different colors, returning to its appearance in 1925 when all its parts were completed. The body of the building will be lighter, the shades of colors will also change, with red being less pronounced than before and the previous white taking on a slightly ochre hue.
