The new swimming pool in Česká Lípa will be designed by the Zlín-based Centroprojekt

Česká Lípa – A project for a new swimming pool in the natural area of Dubice in Česká Lípa will be provided by the Zlín-based company Centroprojekt Group. They offered the shortest delivery time, as well as an experienced implementation team. The company has experience with similar projects, having previously collaborated on swimming pools and water parks in Pasohlávky, Jeseník, Hradec Králové, as well as in Poprad, Slovakia, and Poreč, Croatia. The project documentation is expected to be completed in three-quarters of a year, said Kristýna Kňákal Brožová, spokesperson for the Česká Lípa city hall, to ČTK today.

The construction of the swimming pool has been discussed in the city with 37,000 inhabitants for 30 years. In the past, there were plans for the construction of a pool in Dubice, but the previous city leadership, led by the ČSSD, prepared the construction of a swimming pool next to the Sports Facility in the center. The new city leadership led by ANO decided to abandon this plan and return to the plans in Dubice. According to the study, an outdoor pool with an area of up to 988 m², which could be used daily by about 1300 people, can fit into the area. There are plans for a slide, water slides, a swimming area, and water features, as well as a paddling pool. The estimated cost of constructing the swimming pool is 130 million crowns.

"The task of the designer will be to integrate the outdoor pool with maximum capacity into the existing area in the most sensitive manner, ensuring that it does not encroach on the zones with high and medium flood risk," said the spokesperson for the city hall. All of this is to be done while maintaining the current attractions in Dubice, such as the 3D maze, water play areas, mini-golf, or the popular water ski lift. Centroprojekt will provide the city for 3.6 million crowns not only with complete project documentation but also ensure all permits, assist in selecting a contractor, and will also provide author supervision.

"The complete project documentation should be finished by September of next year, and the time required to obtain building and zoning permits is not included in the duration of the project. However, we still anticipate that we will be able to have a company selected in 2022 to build the outdoor pool in the Dubice area. We believe that we have chosen the most suitable location for what will become a beautiful, high-quality facility where our citizens can spend hot summer days," said the mayor of Česká Lípa, Jitka Volfová (ANO).
