On May 11, 2012, at 2 PM, the book The Uncommonness of Nature, House-Land-People-Sluňákov - 1992-2012, edited by Irena Hradecká, will be launched. It will be a pleasant afternoon in the courtyard of the Projektil architects' studio, Malátova 13, Prague 5. The book also includes a documentary film by Vít Janeček: The Highest Mountain in Haná.
The book is the first published in the Czech Republic that maps the story of the creation of a contemporary house from the first idea of ecologists (Michal Bartoš - director of the Center for Ecological Education Sluňákov), through the project and construction, to the current operation and visions for complementing the area with artistic works. The object is also interesting due to its location in the educational bio-area near Olomouc, aiming to educate about the relationship between humans and nature and the fact that it is a publicly accessible low-energy building where people can stay. The object received the Grand Prix of Architects in 2007. The book does not only describe the project (Projektil architects) and the construction, but also offers insight into the thoughts of the initiators (Michal Bartoš), architects (Projektil architects), graphic designers (Graphic Studio Kultivar), and also artists (František Skála Jr., Miloš Šejn, Miloš Fekar, Marcel Hubáček) preparing the works. It uniquely shows how the energy-efficient design works in reality and how the public receives the object. The book is a unique representation of an exceptional project.
