Napajedla (Zlínsko) - The town of Napajedla in the Zlín region has completed the revitalization of the urban heritage zone. The baroque cultural monuments in the central part of Masaryk Square, the church including its grand access staircase, and the ensemble of adjacent sculptures have undergone renovation. The relaxation area features a new water element. This was announced today by Mayor Irena Brabcová.

The investment amounted to 25.2 million crowns, of which the subsidy from European funds was 18.7 million CZK and from the state budget 1.1 million CZK. The remainder was contributed by Napajedla.
The fountain was designed by architect Pavel Šimeček. It was inspired by the Morava River, which is fed by five main springs up to Napajedla. It lies in the saddles of six mountain ranges, and in the gorge near Napajedla, the river spreads out.
"The five jets represent the individual springs of the rivers Haná, Morava, Vsetínská and Rožnovská Bečva, and Dřevnice. The worked dominant stone from mrákotín granite symbolizes the Chřiby, Drahanská Highlands, Orlické Mountains, Jeseníky, Beskydy, and Vizovické Hills. In the next part of the fountain, the flow of the Morava River passing through the Napajedla Gate, the ford across the river, and the cattle watering place, which have significantly marked the history of our town, are depicted," described Brabcová. The sculptors Jiří Vlach and Martin Kuchař were involved in this water project.
The project also included modifications to the northeastern part of the square. The public lighting was also reconstructed, and municipal furniture was added. The revitalization project was initiated by the town at the beginning of this year, and the ceremonial presentation will take place on September 25.
