Milotice - A complete reconstruction of the castle's horticulture, including greenhouses, costing 20 million crowns, will accompany this year's season at Milotice Castle in the Hodonín region. This was announced by the castle's curator, Evžen Boček, to the ČTK. According to him, the listed building of the horticulture has never undergone such extensive repairs.

"This is a complete reconstruction of the entire historic building, including the water, electricity, and gas installations. The work started in January and should be completed by the end of this year," stated curator Boček.

In addition to the reconstruction of the building, new greenhouses will also be added. "The original ones were built in the 1970s, more or less as a DIY project. Only one of them had an original iron structure, but it was almost decayed, and we were concerned about its stability. Even refurbishment was not an option. The greenhouses will be completely new," added Boček.

The new greenhouses will also mean savings for the castle manager. Thanks to modern materials, they will retain heat much better, preventing unnecessary heat loss during winter.

For visitors to the castle, the repairs to the horticulture will not mean much change. The horticulture, which sells plants, will continue to operate; only access to the area near the dismantled greenhouses will be restricted. The storage garden opened five years ago at the horticulture will remain accessible to the public throughout the season. Milotice Castle will open to the public on the last weekend of March.
