Chrudim – After many years of preparation, residential construction could begin in the Skřivánek area of Chrudim. One of the landowners, Jiří Wiesner, would like to build family houses on the plots. The construction of apartments on other parcels is being delayed by a dispute between the city and another owner.

"Jiří Wiesner wants to separate the plots and build family houses independently. He is concerned that negotiations with other owners will drag on," said Mayor František Pilný (ANO) to ČTK.

The Skřivánek area has been waiting for a solution to its traffic connectivity for years, as it is largely restricted by the railway line. According to Pilný, access to the 28 new homes could be ensured from Škroupa Street, and the traffic load would not be high. He is negotiating the use of city land with the municipal office and preparing various project options.

In the extensive gap behind the train station, the investors envisioned a complex of family and apartment houses. However, people from the neighboring district criticized, among other things, the fact that the construction would mean an additional burden on Chrudim’s traffic, as there is no major road leading to it. Investors would have to build it together. Opponents of the construction have also managed to achieve a reduction in the height of the apartment buildings. The municipal office commissioned a zoning study for the construction, which the investor must respect.

Chrudim has decided to resolve the disputes regarding the co-ownership of the key land in Skřivánek through the courts. The city owns two-thirds; the disagreement with another owner – the K2 Invest company of Chrudim developer Milan Kušta – has been preventing residential construction in the larger area for more than ten years. Therefore, the city turned to the court to officially divide the land.
