Prague - The City Hall of Prague 10 today held a public drawing for the winners of nine municipal apartments. Many winners of the housing designated for single people under 30 years old, couples with minor children, and single parents with a child were brought to tears by their win. "We all live separately, and yet we have a three-month-old baby. We have tried the selection process three times, and a friend eventually advised us to try this," explained Anna Baboníková, while wiping smeared mascara from her face. In "her" category, families Hrazánek, Šámal, and Justín also emerged victorious. In their case, the primarily women could not stop the flow of emotions and cried tears of joy in the embrace of their husbands. In the group of singles under 30, two apartments were competed for. They were won by Radka Zezulková and Jitka Synková, who are currently living with their parents. "My boyfriend advised me to apply. He will only visit me; he won't live with me," revealed 24-year-old Zezulková. In the final category, luck smiled upon Irena Dlouhá, Daniela Krixová, and Tereza Damianidu. This year, the city hall organized the drawing for apartments for the first time three years ago. "We thought about how to make it as transparent as possible," explained the mayor of Prague 10, Milan Richter (ODS), why this year's lottery took place in front of the public at the Christmas market in Vršovice. The tickets with the names of the winners were drawn by randomly selected children from the audience - preschool-aged, so that they would not accidentally be able to read the names. This year, 102 applicants registered, but four dozen had to be disqualified because they did not meet certain conditions. Applicants for the prize must have a residence in the tenth municipal district and must not own another residential property. They must also prove that they will be able to pay rent of 55 crowns per square meter from their income.
