Prague - The leadership of the Central Bohemian Region is unhappy with Milovice's demand for a regulatory plan for the Boží Dar area, where the region wants to build an industrial zone. According to the regional government, such documents are created only for areas in the historical parts of cities or where there is building. The region is prepared to challenge the city's decision, said Governor Miloš Petera (CSSD) during the final discussion at today's meeting of the Central Bohemian Assembly. The city wants to consult the plan's intent with the Ministry of Regional Development. “The city of Milovice demands a regulatory plan for the Boží Dar area. We as the region will challenge it, and if necessary, we will file a cassation complaint,” Petera said. “I understand the city's desire to know what will be there, but that can be addressed within the framework of the zoning plan,” he added. The region wants to build a state-supported industrial zone in the former military area in Milovice-Mladá, but it does not yet have the government's approval. Hundreds of millions of crowns are needed for the preparation of the zone. The region could obtain some funds from the European Union. According to the mayor of Milovice, Milan Pour (ANO), the city hall wants the regulatory plan merely to ensure that the city has greater oversight over the zone. “I will now find out some more details from the Ministry of Regional Development, which has information on the regulatory plan as a higher authority,” he told ČTK. According to him, the city does not want an investor to appear in the zone that the residents would not agree with. “We will also seek further statements, to see if we are thinking correctly and if we have it set up right. From what I discussed with councilors and the zoning plan preparer, they all agreed that with this, we at least have something in hand, some framework that we can use to regulate things there in some way,” Pour added. President Miloš Zeman, during a recent visit to Milovice, stated that the biggest problem in this city is unemployment. Therefore, he wants to attract an investor who will produce goods with high added value, ensure decent salaries, and help improve the traffic situation alongside Petera. He pointed out that there is a great interest in the Czech Republic from Chinese investors.
