Litvínov - Litvínov is preparing the construction of a transport terminal near the bus and train station. The current state is unsatisfactory for pedestrians, transport operators, and taxi drivers. The city council has now selected a company to develop the project documentation. This will reveal the costs of the entire investment. According to the signed agreement, eighty percent of the costs will be covered by the Ústí Region, while the rest will be paid by the city.

"The place where train and bus transport and public transport intersect is in a very neglected state, and the region has come up with a proposal for the creation of a modern terminal, which we supported," said Deputy Mayor Milan Šťovíček. The modern terminal is expected to contribute to the safety and smooth flow of transport.

The project will be developed by the company Metroprojekt Praha, which submitted the most advantageous bid of approximately 5.7 million crowns including VAT. The costs for the construction will arise from the project for the revitalization of the transfer hub. According to the agreement between the Ústí Region and the city, 80 percent of the total costs should be covered by the region.

The project will also include the reconstruction of the tram line between Litvínov and Most, which is being prepared by the transport company. "The transport company dictated its needs into the project so that the terminal would better meet the needs of passengers," stated Šťovíček.

In the area near the station, there are several objects that belong to private owners and the Railway Transport Administration (SŽDC). The town hall would like to acquire some of them to establish, for example, a park-and-ride facility. According to the original estimate, the space could be handed over for use by the end of 2020.
