Kutná Hora – Kutná Hora will begin work on the transport terminal project, which will simplify travel to the city and transfers between trains and buses. It is to be established at the Kutná Hora město train station, and bus platforms can be built on adjacent land. The council expressed support for the initiative today.
The public transport terminal has been discussed in Kutná Hora for a while. A study was created, which, according to the current leadership, did not respect the needs of the carriers. Before the town hall leadership embarks on project preparations, they wanted to have a clear mandate from the council. "We want to clarify at the beginning whether it has support and if it's something we should spend time on, or not," said Mayor Lukáš Seifert.
The opposition expressed support at today's meeting for the idea to be presented publicly. Councilor for the Pirates, Vít Šnajdr, suggested that Seifert hold a public presentation by the end of September. The mayor agreed.
The town hall representatives expect the terminal to enable easier travel to Kutná Hora and revive the city center. It will allow for a transfer from bus to train, so-called "dry-foot," and will also be connected to the Prague Integrated Transport system. After the terminal is built, the existing bus station is expected to temporarily serve for parking tourist buses, and its further use will still be discussed.
