Kutná Hora – Kutná Hora could acquire the Modrý kříž cinema on Havířská street, as the owners have decided to sell the building. The city council recommends buying the property, but the final decision will be made by the representatives, said Mayor Josef Viktora. According to him, the price was 28 million crowns, but negotiations managed to reduce it to 23 million CZK.

According to the mayor, the cinema is operating well, and the operator is the City Tyl Theatre. "We have it rented. There are two owners, and they have decided to sell it," said Viktora. The offer for the city is time-limited. "They have given us until the end of this year at most; otherwise, they will sell it anyway," said the mayor.

According to him, the question is how the representatives will respond to the proposal. "The council recommended the purchase to the representatives, but that opinion will certainly not be unanimous," added Viktora.

The building has historical and architectural value, according to the city hall. The cinema project was developed by architects Tomáš Pražák and Pavel Moravec in 1919, and two years later, the cinema was completely finished. The building has been modified several times in the 20th century. The cinema is said to be modernly equipped. The hall on the ground floor has a capacity of 190 seats, and an additional 116 people can sit in the balcony.
