Ústí nad Labem - The Cultural Center of Ústí nad Labem, a contributory organization of the city, has received a grant of nearly 58 million crowns for the renovation of the cinema hall building in the House of Culture. The estimated costs are around 75 million crowns. The organization announced this today on its Facebook page.
"The result will be a modern, fully equipped cultural and creative center for theatrical performances, lectures, screenings, and concerts," representatives of the organization described the renovation. With the grant money from the National Recovery Plan, the electrical installations, ventilation, and heating will be replaced. There will also be new seats for the audience and new floors. The grant will also cover professional lighting and sound equipment, which the center has been lacking for a long time.
The building will also undergo minor structural modifications, such as insulating the northern facade and replacing the windows. The installation of a photovoltaic power plant on the roof of the building is also planned. The backstage for artists will also have a new look. Repairs are set to begin in 2024 and are expected to last until the second half of 2025.
Under the Cultural Center, there is also the National House, which has undergone minor adjustments. For instance, the sound equipment, lighting, painting, and the dressing rooms and stage have been modified. In collaboration with the architectural studio 3+1 architects, a new bar has been created. A club stage is planned to be established in the National House. The hall offers space for approximately 300 visitors.
