Jihlava - The Vysočina Region has again not sold the former Buchtův kopec sanatorium in Žďársko. In February, it signed a purchase agreement with a price of 18.15 million crowns with the company B.R.A. Technology, but the money did not arrive despite the extension of the payment deadline until the end of June. The buyer withdrew from the contract, said the region's spokesperson Jitka Svatošová to ČTK today. The region has been trying to sell the property for about five years.

"According to information from Martin Kukla, the deputy governor for economics and property, further selling offers can be expected," the spokesperson stated.

The large complex with pavilions, which has been empty in recent years, has been offered for sale repeatedly by the region. From an originally requested 50.3 million crowns, the minimum price in the last round of sales dropped to 18 million crowns. The last selected company was supposed to send the money for the sanatorium by mid-April. However, according to data on the region's website, in April it only paid 300,000 crowns as an agreed penalty for breach of contract and requested an extension of the payment deadline. The amendment to the purchase agreement was approved by the region's council in May.

The Buchtův kopec sanatorium, located at an altitude of 720 meters, was completed in 1947 and initially served for the treatment of tuberculosis. Most recently, it housed a long-term care facility operated by the regional hospital in Nové Město na Moravě. According to earlier data from the region, the facility was unprofitable and was closed at the end of 2011. The maintenance of the empty complex costs around 1.1 million crowns annually.
