Kolín - Kolín will repair the facilities of the ceremonial hall at the central cemetery. It will be completed by September, and the costs will be approximately 1.6 million crowns. The entire facility in the building will be renovated, while the actual mourning hall, where the ceremonies take place, is expected to be repaired next year, Deputy Mayor Tomáš Růžička (Kolíňáci) said to reporters today.
The repair will include the waiting area for the bereaved, the room for funeral services, the mourning exhibition, sanitary facilities, and other rooms. "In the past, we dealt with malfunctions in the electrical installation there. Therefore, a major electrical installation repair took place last year," Růžička noted.
The reconstruction of the ceremonial hall facilities will not limit mourning ceremonies, but the subsequent repair of the mourning hall next year will. The city is preparing the repair plan in cooperation with the city architect. During the repair of the mourning hall, ceremonies will take place in other cities. "The closest options are, for example, Kutná Hora or Poděbrady, but we will finalize the details," Růžička added.
As part of the renovation of the mourning hall, an audio system for the hall and the area in front of the building is also planned, as not all guests can fit inside during large mourning ceremonies, and the mourning speech is not audible outside the building.
