Karlovy Vary - The Karlovy Vary Region plans to start construction of a new headquarters for the regional rescue service next year, costing approximately 105 million crowns. Of that, about 75 million crowns will be for construction, and around 30 million crowns will be spent on equipping the rescue center. The region has arranged a loan of 75 million crowns with ČSOB for the construction on the premises of the regional authority. This was announced by Deputy Governor Martin Havel.

However, the ten-year loan is merely a sort of insurance. If the region has sufficient of its own resources, it will not draw the money from the bank, as the contract allows. The region chose ČSOB after a tender in which four banks participated. The funding for the equipment has been promised by the state. "Construction must begin because the ambulance service is currently in spaces rented from the firefighters, and they need them," Havel stated.
Construction of a new headquarters for the labor office, costing about 71.6 million crowns, has already begun this year in the area of the regional office in the Dvory district. Construction of the regional police headquarters has also started, and permission has been granted, although the construction of the regional court is currently postponed. "In addition, a science and technology campus should be created here," stated Deputy Governor Petr Navrátil. The regional library and the headquarters of the regional firefighters are already located in the administrative and administrative center.
