Hustopeče has a new amphitheater for 26 million crowns, which will also serve for the festivals

Hustopeče - The construction of the new amphitheater for 26 million crowns has been completed in Hustopeče in the Břeclav region. The construction took over a year and is the first phase of the reconstruction of the community center, in whose courtyard the amphitheater stands. The grand opening of the amphitheater, which can serve as a concert stage as well as an open-air cinema, is scheduled for Tuesday, July 23, the city leadership announced on its website.

"The center of the new complex is a covered concrete stage that also houses two dressing rooms and storage areas. It is designed to be barrier-free and includes an internal staircase for performers. In front of the stage is a large dance floor transitioning to a grassy area. The construction also included the building of restrooms in the rear section of the community center, accessible directly from the garden, and other repairs," said the Deputy Mayor of Hustopeče, Bořivoj Švásta (Healthy Hustopeče).

In addition to the 26 million for the amphitheater itself, the city allocated another ten million for adjustments to the community center itself. Besides building restrooms, they had the façade of the building facing the courtyard repaired and installed a new covering on part of the roof.

"Originally, there was a turnaround for firefighters here, which we expanded by 50 square meters of paved space," added the investment technician of Hustopeče, Radek Krušina.

The space behind the community center has not yet been utilized. After the grand opening, it will serve as an open-air cinema until the end of July, but it will mainly host the Hustopeče festivities in mid-August and planned theater performances.

The leadership of Hustopeče has been addressing the reconstruction of the community center for several years. After processing the project documentation, it became clear that a complete reconstruction would require 120 million crowns, therefore the construction was divided into two phases, with the construction of the amphitheater being the first of them.
