Hradec Králové - Hradec Králové will once again seek a designer for the extensive renovation of the Adalbertinum community center, which is one of the main cultural venues in the city of one hundred thousand. The original designer, after inspecting the building, discovered that the scope of the design work would be significantly larger than anticipated and withdrew from the contract. This was stated today by Jindřich Vedlich (TOP 09), the deputy mayor of Hradec Králové. The rough estimate of the renovation costs is around 40 to 50 million crowns.
The designer selected from the tender will prepare documentation for all stages of the building permit process. The estimated price of the design work is 700,000 crowns excluding VAT.
The Hradec Králové city hall plans to repair the roof, facade, windows, and modernize the interior spaces of the Adalbertinum building. According to Vedlich's estimate, the actual renovation could begin in approximately two years. The city will also consider whether to use its own resources for financing the renovation or seek a grant for co-financing.
The Adalbertinum building was constructed between 1895 and 1897 in a pseudo-baroque and Art Nouveau style. It offers halls, lounges, and classrooms with a capacity ranging from ten to 440 seats, with a restaurant on the ground floor. Various cultural and social events are held in the building. The city council also convenes there every month.
