Holešov - Holešov in the Kroměříž region is preparing for this year to reconstruct the funeral hall at the cemetery on Grohova Street. The building has poor insulation, and the roof leaks. The estimated costs amount to 12.3 million crowns, with approximately nine million crowns of this amount covered by a subsidy. After the modifications are completed, the hall will have what is known as a green roof, said Mayor Rudolf Seifert (BEZPP, for the Coalition for Holešov) to ČTK.
According to him, the funeral hall was built in the late 1980s. "It was put into operation in 1992 and has been plagued by many problems since the beginning. Both in relation to the roof insulation and the overall thermal and water insulation. Several modifications and repairs have been carried out there, and we have now come to the conclusion that it would be good to make a significant repair of the roof," the mayor stated.
There will be plants on the reconstructed roof, and the new waterproofing should ensure that water does not leak into the building. "Flat roofs are problematic in all buildings. So the green roof could solve this problem. Of course, care will need to be taken to ensure that all drainage gutters and spots are properly cleaned," Seifert said. He stated that the architectural appearance of the building would be preserved by the builders.
This year, the Holešov city hall plans to release another 1.5 million crowns for the expansion of the columbarium at the cemetery. "That is a classic thing that the city of Holešov does about every three years," the mayor noted. According to him, upon completion of the work, the columbarium should offer several dozen additional places for the placement of urns with the ashes of the deceased. Holešov has more than 11,000 residents.
