In the history of 20th-century world architecture, Brno's Villa Tugendhat plays a completely unique role. Architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe was commissioned by the affluent and open-minded couple Grete and Fritz Tugendhat to embody their utopian social vision. The documentary narrates the changing history of the house, built in 1929/30, and its inhabitants, each tightly connected to the house in very specific and personal ways. In addition to the members of the Tugendhat family and former residents, art historians and restorers, who have contributed to the restoration of this unique building in recent years, also share their insights.

After the film screening, interested attendees can view additional bonus materials:
interviews with Brno architects, politicians, and artists (8 min.) and a documentary on functionalist architecture providing the historical context of the creation of Villa Tugendhat (40 min. / in the original version with English subtitles).
