Most

Most - Today, workers erected the tower of a wooden Orthodox church, which is being built in Most near the parish church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. The event, initially announced for the morning, eventually stretched into the evening hours. The building, which was sent here in disassembled form by the Romanian Orthodox Church, has been rising in Most for less than a month. It is expected to be completed by the end of November.
Architect Jiří Harant, who is involved in the construction, told ČTK that the church is intended to serve not only for church purposes. The Romanian church is reportedly also building it as a memorial to the Romanian soldiers who died during the liberation of Czechoslovakia.
The city was very keen on the church, which was also one of the reasons why the Romanian side chose Most. In addition to the church, the complex is expected to include an Orthodox monastery and a summer prayer house. The church is being built near the emerging Most lake, which is intended to serve for recreation in the future. The town hall anticipates that the unusual building will become one of the attractions for tourists.
