Prague - Development companies want to build again in the Prague Triple Border area between Prague 10, 11, and 15. Proposals to change the zoning plan for several parcels have arrived at the Prague 10 municipality. The applicants wanted to convert up to 50 out of a total of 250 hectares of existing green land into building plots. Prague 10 disagrees with the changes. "The proposals to change the zoning plan in the Triple Border area are submitted without a concept, without agreement and coordination with other landowners, and are in stark contradiction to the long-declared interests of Prague 10 and the capital city in this location," said the mayor of Prague 10, Bohumil Zoufalík (independent), adding that the proposals were submitted by the companies PPF and Finep. According to information from ČTK, the land in question extends from the Botič stream toward the old cherry orchard, where Finep wants to change a total of 23.9 hectares. The company PPF also wants to change other plots in the area of a gardening colony, Zoufalík stated. However, the decision on whether the zoning plan in the Triple Border area will be modified will be made by the city council. Municipalities only have a "consultative" vote; the decision on changes is always made solely by the representatives of Prague. "We have already sent our position to the city. I must say it is steadfast and unchanging," Zoufalík told ČTK. It is unclear when the proposal will be addressed by the magistrate. The effort to build on the Triple Border has already appeared in the previous electoral term from 2006 to 2010. At that time, all three affected city districts and the magistrate declared their intention to purchase the land from private owners and convert it into a park. The city has not yet purchased the land. Several development companies wanted to build apartment buildings here.
