Prague - An information center with a robotically serviced restaurant has been built in Prague near the Nové Butovice metro station according to the design of sculptor David Černý. The two-story center named Cyberdog takes the form of a sitting dog and was created over approximately a year. New technologies and materials were used in its construction, and the costs of building the center exceeded 20 million crowns. This is stated on the website of Trigema, the investor behind the center. It is expected to open in late November or early December.
The construction is a project of the architectural studio Black n' Arch, where Černý works and which is part of the Trigema group. Cyberdog is a space divided into robotic workstations, a conveyor track located above the visitor areas, and a projection area where showcases from the world of technology are displayed. Thanks to a special treatment of glass using projection film, passersby will have the opportunity to see the projection from the pedestrian zone in front of the building, according to the project's website.
According to the authors, Cyberdog is the first place in Europe where a robot prepares drinks - it is not just about pouring them, but a whole system from ordering to payment. Customers can order through a mobile app, the robotic arm pours the drink, and a special distribution system delivers the order. Today, it is already possible to choose from the menu on www.cyber-dog.cz. There are also plans for rentals for corporate events or birthday parties, with a seating capacity of 41 people.
In addition to the dominant position of the robotic sommelier, Cyberdog is expected to have a wealth of multimedia content with a science and technology theme.
Cyberdog is located near the headquarters of Czech Photo Centre, which, among other things, organizes the photojournalism competition Czech Press Photo. In front of the company's headquarters and near the headquarters of Trigema in Stodůlky stands Černý's kinetic sculpture Trifot. The chairman of the board of Trigema, Marcel Soural, is a managing director at the Black n' Arch studio. In the studio, alongside Černý, there are ten architects working. The director of the Czech Press Photo competition for the past few years has been Veronika Souralová.
