Hradec Králové - Visitors heading to the unfinished seat of the Hradec Králové Region in the former brewery in Hradec Králové via the staircase from Komenského Street can expect an unusual experience with the so-called singing trees. Upon entering the terraces, colorful lights will illuminate a trio of trees and music will begin to play, said today the spokesperson for the region, Imrich Dioszegi.
The author of this unusual artistic work is Hradec Králové sculptor Jana Matějková. "In the staircase area, colorful magical terraces with trees are created, where music emanating from the depths of the terraces recalls the legacy of the former brewery. As a means of expression, I used light, which fascinates me with its elusiveness and yet can very effectively cause plastic changes in space," said the sculptor. Lights and music will be activated by sensors that detect visitor movement. The music for the singing trees project was composed by Hradec musicians Martin Brunner and Petr Vyšohlíd, who chose beer bottles as instruments and edited the resulting recording on a computer.
After completion, the brewery area will also offer visitors other works of art, for example, graphic prints by painter Milada Gabrielová, inspired by period photos of the original brewery's life, will be placed on the glass entrance structure. Next to the regional office, there will also be a gallery of sculptures by Vladimír Preclík.
The Hradec Králové regional office will pay 1.48 billion crowns for the brewery's reconstruction. Officials are expected to move into the new premises from November 26 to December 7. Besides the regional officials, other regional institutions, such as the Health Holding and the European Project Center, will also be located in the area. The building will also host part of the space for Hradec university, representation of the Czechinvest agency, and there will be 468 parking spaces in the new underground garages. The area will also include a restaurant, café, bakery, microbrewery, a branch of ČSOB, and a delicatessen for rent.
