Břeclav - Czech Railways will close the vestibule of the train station's dispatch building in Břeclav on July 30. They will begin another phase of the total reconstruction of the station building for 70 million crowns. This was stated by the spokesperson of Czech Railways, Kateřina Šubová. According to her, a replacement ČD center will operate. The vestibule will reopen at the end of June next year, when all work will be completed.

The vestibule is located in the central part of the building, which will undergo reconstruction. "It is necessary to carry out construction interventions that will not allow current public use in the long term," Šubová stated. According to her, the builders will also repair the main facade of the building, which will acquire its original appearance from the 19th century. "Structural interventions in the load-bearing system of the building are prepared, along with reconstruction to a historicizing appearance, the removal of a load-bearing column in the main passage to platform 1, the creation of openings in load-bearing walls to the future corridor and commercial spaces," added Šubová.

According to her, there are also plans for work on the extension of the communication corridor, and the replacement of the roof covering will continue. During the closure of the vestibule, three routes will serve passengers. The first will be the entrance next to the restaurant to the connecting corridor between the vestibule and the restaurant, from where people can access the ČD center. The second route will go from the bus terminal to platform 1, and the third will be a new temporary access to platform 1 from the parking lot near the post office through a passage between the post office and the restaurant. "The routes will be marked with temporary signage. Information about train departures will be posted in the corridor near the ČD center and on platform 1 in a cell of the temporary traffic office," Šubová added.

The reconstruction of the vestibule is just one part of the overall reconstruction, which will cost 70 million and is set to be completed in the middle of next year. "The construction adjustments will create new spaces for passengers in the area of the original ticket offices, and the construction of a new glass corridor will provide a more suitable connection between platform 1B, the bus station terminal, and the train station building itself. The completed construction of the neighboring bus terminal has a significant impact on the spatial arrangement of the railway building, allowing for comfortable transfers between bus and train transportation," Šubová stated. Empty offices in the administrative part of the building are also being renovated.
