Ostrava - Most of the apartments in the Municipal Gate building, which is currently being constructed in the center of Ostrava, remain vacant. Out of 37 residential units, only five are currently occupied. The apartment building could be completed as early as the first quarter of next year. The same situation applies to non-residential spaces - of the eight available, there is interest in only three. The ongoing financial crisis has affected sales. Project manager Vít Vaněk announced this to reporters today. “Nowadays we all know how the situation has changed from the time of the project's initiation to the expected completion of the construction. Of course, it is not easy; our sales plan anticipates sales over a longer time horizon than the first half of next year,” Vaněk stated. The first residential units are expected to be handed over in the first half of next year. The Municipal Gate apartment building offers units from 64 square meters to 119 square meters. The average price per square meter is around 50,000 crowns. Thus, apartments range from three to 7.5 million crowns. Among the non-residential spaces that are part of the multifunctional building is also a two-story glazed café. The building will be located in close proximity to Kostelní Square. The new apartment building is designed in a so-called urban style, meaning without balconies, deep loggias, and large glazed areas, except for the southwest facade, where loggias facing Kostelní Square will be created. Most apartments will be situated between the second and fifth floors. The cost of construction is approximately 150 million crowns.
