Lanškroun

Lanškroun - Future architects will attempt to propose solutions for some problematic areas in Lanškroun. The town hall has established cooperation with the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague, and more than 80 students expressed interest in the topic of the City of Lanškroun - gaps and interventions in the city center. From these, 30 students were selected who will focus on Lanškroun in their main study content during the winter semester.

"The results of the work could be a great benefit for Lanškroun. They can inspire, bring a new perspective on problematic places, and reveal hidden potential,"
stated Teresa Juřinová from the town hall in a press release today. Students should prioritize residential construction in their works.

The work of young architects often sparks interesting discussions about cities and public spaces among citizens, representatives of local government, owners, and potential investors. Thanks to their independence, students do not shy away from seeking solutions for any places and often bring bold solutions.

Students have already visited Lanškroun, and they will now focus on analyzing spatial relationships. They met with Mayor Radim Vetchý and architect Oldřich Bittner, familiarizing themselves with the history of the city and its current development. Two critiques of the developed projects will take place on academic grounds in Prague during the winter semester, and the results of the works will be presented through an exhibition and a discussion with the public over project presentations in Lanškroun.
