Brno – Brno wants to build a new kindergarten in Vinohrady for 112 children. The estimated cost is 45 million crowns. This was stated in a press release by Jana Vašíčková from the city's press department.
The single-storey building will be located on Šedova Street. The city chose the location considering the planned construction of 700 new apartments. "With the construction, the population in Vinohrady will increase by 1,700. This will mainly involve young families, which also requires ensuring the necessary capacities in preschool education. This corresponds precisely to four classes,” said the mayor of Brno, Markéta Vaňková (ODS).
The four-class kindergarten will have all the necessary facilities for managing the school and for both teaching and non-teaching staff. "The area will, of course, include a garden for outdoor activities for the children, including fencing and lighting, and there will also be plans for building a parking lot for the necessary number of cars. The kindergarten will be operated by the Brno-Vinohrady district,” added the councillor for education and sports, Jaroslav Suchý (KDU-ČSL).
Brno operates 140 kindergartens, which are attended by about 11,500 children, and around 70 primary schools, which are attended by over 32,000 students.
