Brno - Brno will completely repair four streets for approximately half a billion crowns. The city council today selected the company that will renovate Milady Horákové Street. The investment costs will amount to 235.8 million crowns. Work will begin in March and last for 16 months, informed the first deputy mayor Robert Kotzian (ODS). According to him, the city will also repair Horova, Minská, and Bráfova streets for an additional approximately 264 million crowns. Vaňkovo Square will also be renovated. "With all these investment projects, we will improve the technical condition of important roads in our city, which will contribute to greater traffic flow," said Kotzian. The project for Milady Horákové Street includes the reconstruction of sewage, water supply, tram tracks, and the road. The repair will be ensured by the Milady Horákové-Firesta-DS Brno Association, which includes Firesta-Fišer and Dopravní stavby Brno companies. The city council also approved the initiation of the procurement procedure for the reconstruction of sewage, water supply, and the road in Minská, Horova, and Bráfova streets. "The estimated cost of this investment is 264 million without VAT," said Kotzian. Construction work is expected to start this autumn. Vaňkovo Square will also be adjusted, where a roundabout and a city relaxation space with greenery will be created. Here, the city anticipates a cost of nearly 50 million crowns including tax. Construction is expected to start in July this year. "Alongside the reconstruction of major streets, we are intensively working on increasing the capacity of Žabovřeská Road, which is part of the large city ring road," added Kotzian.
