Břeclav - A miniature park could become an attraction in Břeclav, which would be a scaled-down copy of the Lednice-Valtice area. Local councilors are considering having miniatures of numerous historical buildings that are the pride of the area built in the park of the Břeclav Castle. This was said today by deputy mayor Pavel Dominik.
"We definitely do not want to place the miniatures just next to each other. We would create a small model of the entire area using them so that interested parties could easily orient themselves within it," he stated. According to some speculation, the miniature park could be constructed as early as this year.
The idea for its construction came from Břeclav mayor Dymo Piškula after visiting Břeclav's partner city - Anrychów in Poland, which has a similar park with miniature buildings.
The Břeclav mini park would be exclusively dedicated to the Lednice-Valtice area. It spans over 185 square kilometers. It is a landscape full of monuments and ponds arranged in an English style. The area was created by members of the noble family of Liechtenstein.
In addition to the renowned castles in Lednice and Valtice, there are nearly 20 other extraordinary historical buildings in the area. Among them are the Obelisk, a Minaret serving as a lookout tower, the romantic ruin of Janohrad, the Rajstna colonnade, and many other objects.
The Lednice-Valtice area was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. It attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the world every year.
Perhaps the most famous miniature park of buildings is in Brussels. In the Mini Europe park, there are miniatures of significant structures from the continent in the Belgian capital. Each of the European Union member states has its "representation" there. It features 300 objects made with the smallest details.
In the Czech Republic, a set of miniatures of significant buildings can be seen at the exhibition grounds in Ostrava. The MiniUni area offers visitors more than 20 models of buildings from European cities made to a scale of 1:25. The highlight of the area is a 12-meter-high Eiffel Tower.
