Mladá Boleslav - Architects in Mladá Boleslav already have a solution to connect the construction of a parking garage in the Old Town Square with the preservation of archaeological findings discovered at the same site. The parking garage will be accessed through a glass dome, and the exhibition of the excavations will be located in one of the cellars. ČTK was informed about this by Deputy Mayor Adolf Beznoska.
The parking garage is set to be established in the Old Town Square, of which the complete reconstruction began on Friday, later this year. It will be located underground, and above it, a small park with greenery and play elements, as well as an entrance to the building in the form of a glass dome, will be created. "This solution is not only interesting but also acceptable to the heritage conservationists, who have already expressed their agreement in writing," said the deputy mayor.
The parking garage should have at least 66 parking spaces, with the lower level mainly intended for residents, and the upper level for visitors. Motorists will enter and exit via a single ramp, and the traffic on it will be controlled by traffic lights. This space-saving solution is designed with the goal of preserving the most interesting part of the archaeological excavations. There was a great public interest in this in a survey on the city's website.
"We have responded to this request by considering the connection of two cellars in this area, their looping, and supplementing it with a small underground exhibition. We are also considering options to add an attractive element that would entice the public even more," added the deputy mayor. According to him, the tender documentation could be completed in about a month, and everything necessary for the start of construction could begin to be prepared.
