Paris - After a two-year renovation, the Parisian apartment where the modernist architect Le Corbusier lived with his wife from 1934 to 1965 has been reopened to the public. This was reported by the AFP agency, citing the Le Corbusier Foundation. The apartment, which is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, has been restored to its state from 1965.

The apartment is located on the seventh floor of a building called Molitor in the 16th district of Paris. The building is part of the works that Le Corbusier carried out with his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. The duplex apartment, a manifestation of Le Corbusier's architectural ideas, also served as his studio.

Each room is arranged so that hallways are not needed. Access to the apartment is via stairs from the sixth floor, where the elevator arrives. On the seventh floor, there is an entrance, living room, kitchen, and studio. The eighth floor includes a guest room and access to the rooftop garden - the architect was inspired by villas with rooftop gardens when designing the apartment.

In addition to the garden, the apartment is characterized by curved lines, the use of primary colors, large sliding windows, and rotating doors.

"The sky is shining, and we have been living in these fantastic conditions for two weeks: the residence is truly heavenly, because it has sky and light, space, and simplicity," Le Corbusier described his apartment in a letter to his mother.
