Last Friday, the final plans for the renovation of the famous Rijksmuseum were presented in Amsterdam. They were authored by Spanish architects Antonio Cruz Villalón and Antonio Ortiz Garcia from Seville, who worked on the project for over two years. The main idea was to cleanse the 19th-century building of all later additions, which only complicated the museum's operation, and to build a new wing of glass and stone for the Asian collection. Another new feature will be a study center with a library in the museum's back courtyard. On the Rijksmuseum website, you can also view two short computer animations - here.
