ZLÍN (ČTK) - So far, the city hall of Kroměříž has been unsuccessfully looking for buyers for some properties that the city inherited after the army's departure. This mainly concerns the military hospital complex and a large three-story building in the former Žižkov barracks. The councilors have now reduced the asking price. This was reported to ČTK by the city hall spokesman Pavel Zrna.
In the current year, Kroměříž acquired a large military property through a gratuitous transfer, including two extensive barracks complexes. While the Rybalkova barracks were sold off in their entirety for 65 million crowns, the Žižkov barracks are being sold in parts. So far, the city has sold buildings and land here for 47 million crowns.
Initially, the city demanded 25 million crowns for the hospital, then offered it along with the building of the former nursing home for 40 million crowns. Now the councilors want to sell both properties separately, asking for 17 million crowns for the hospital.
The three-story building was originally up for sale for 12 million crowns, but later the price dropped by three million crowns and now by another two. Additionally, Kroměříž is also selling two smaller properties on Purkyňova Street, asking 1.25 million crowns for each.
In the former military areas, primarily apartments and shopping centers will be created in the future, with some properties also serving for business purposes. It is likely that a modular sports hall will be built on the site of the former vehicle park on U Rejdiště Street, which the city sold for five million crowns.
Other cities in the Zlín region, particularly Uherské Hradiště and Valašské Meziříčí, have also acquired large military complexes in the past. In Uherské Hradiště, a large part of the area has been designated for a commercial zone with a supermarket, but apartments and educational facilities are also being developed there. In Valašské Meziříčí, the area has been predominantly occupied by companies.
