The highlight of the Berlin gallery Aedes season, which is celebrating its thirtieth anniversary this year, will likely take place this Thursday when an exhibition titled “SANAA – recent projects“ will open, showcasing the contemporary work of Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa through the lens of South Tyrolean photographer Walter Niedermayr. SANAA is not appearing at the Berlin gallery Aedes for the first time. Ten years ago, visitors could already familiarize themselves with the projects of this duo of Japanese architects. This winter, seven projects from Europe, Asia, and America will be presented. The opening on November 18, 2010, will feature Kristin Feireiss (Aedes Berlin), Harald Sommerer (Zumtobel Group, Dornbirn), Koji Ueda (Director of the Japan Cultural Institute, Cologne), and Martha Thorne (Executive Director of The Pritzker Architecture Prize, Chicago) speaking from 6:30 PM. The exhibition will run until January 20, 2011, and entry is free.
