On Saturday, June 14, 2014, the Faculty of Architecture at CTU in Prague will be one of 39 institutions hosting the eleventh edition of the Prague Museum Night. The event is organized by the National Museum, the Prague Public Transit Company, and the Association of Museums and Galleries of the Czech Republic. During this unconventional time, FA CTU will offer the public a comprehensive overview of its activities and a rich program for visitors of all generations and senses. Exhibitions, workshops, screenings, and guided tours will take place in the attractive environment of the new CTU building.

The Museum Night will kick off with the opening of the exhibition of diploma projects, which will be inaugurated at 7:30 PM in the atrium by the Dean of FA CTU Prof. Ing. arch. Ladislav Lábus, Hon. FAIA. The atrium on the ground floor of the building will showcase the diploma theses of recent graduates and research by doctoral students. All studios across seven floors will be open, allowing visitors to view students' semester projects and the environment where future architects work. A new experience in exploring architecture will be offered by the exhibition Prague Haptic. 15 large models of iconic buildings of Prague architecture, made for the visually impaired by FA CTU students, will be available for those who wish to rely solely on their hands and touch this time.

The program will include lectures and film screenings from the FA CTU film archive. CTU student teams will show that at the faculty, not only is there design work, but also construction. They will share their experiences and stories from their successful participation in the Solar Decathlon competition. Who is an architect and designer? The Architecture Students' Association will answer that and offer a short excursion into the life of the Faculty of Architecture students.

From 8:00 PM to midnight, screenings of films on architecture will take place in all lecture rooms. Viewers will be able to see a film about the conversion of London's power station into the modern art gallery Tate Modern by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, a documentary by architect Rem Koolhaas's team about the largely unexplored largest city in Nigeria, Lagos, or the film Berlin Babylon, documenting the rebuilding of Berlin after the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Visitors will be able to actively participate in workshops and art studios. Workshops titled I Understand My City are targeted at children. Instructors from the Institute of Fine Arts will lead art workshops where artistic amateurs will draw using the haptic non-visual method. The Model Design Laboratory (MOLAB) has prepared interactive design demonstrations, including computer simulations and prototype production on a 3D printer, for fans of modern technologies. The exhibition What We Have Demolished and the extensive internet database Industrial Topography will be presented by the Research Center for Industrial Heritage of FA CTU. For those interested in studying, the study department will be open from 2 PM to 5 PM as part of the Open House Day, and members of the Architecture Students' Association will be available.

Access to the FA CTU building is barrier-free. Detailed program of the Prague Museum Night at FA CTU can be found at https://www.fa.cvut.cz/Cz/PrednaskyVystavy/PrazskaMuzejniNoc2014.
