Pillow House is not an architectural object, but a real house, more precisely, its model at a one-to-one scale. Its external shape and internal space were determined by a choreographic creation, the video recording of which served to generate a virtual 3D model of the house, based on which it was produced robotically.
Given the extraordinary interest of the entire creative and manufacturing process, we have conceived the exhibition Pillow House as a procedural one that represents the genesis of the entire work step by step, exactly as a real building is born. Therefore, we divided the exhibition into three basic stages.
Stage 1 – static (October 1 - October 5) Presentation of the project in rough outlines and laying the cornerstone. The construction site becomes the object. Stage 2 - dynamic (October 5 - December 2) The international day of architecture begins the actual realization process of the object, which will be illustrated by video projections. The construction site disappears and the object gradually grows. Stage 3 - final (December 3 - February 15, 2015) Final inspection of the completed object.
