The non-profit project City Interventions Ostrava 2013 is culminating. Interventions in pressing areas of the city that need change were proposed not only by architects, builders, artists, and students. Over 50 city interventions gathered, with dozens of people from the general public involved in the project. The proposals will be presented in an exhibition at the multi-genre center Cooltour in Ostrava. The opening will take place on December 10 at 5:00 PM, and the exhibition will last until the end of January. During this time, there will be author presentations of individual interventions for the public. In February, the exhibition will move to the foyer of the New Town Hall. The exhibition will showcase over fifty solutions to problematic locations in Ostrava, which is more than the organizers expected. Proposals were submitted, for example, by architects from Ostrava studios ATOS-6, OSA projekt, and PROJEKTSTUDIO, as well as from the Opava Atelier 38. All participants are changing the face of Ostrava voluntarily and without any claims for remuneration. Most frequently, their proposals concern Masaryk Square and the area of Nová Karolina. Some interventions, however, go beyond the city center. The Ostrava City Interventions are the seventh project of this kind in the Czech and Slovak Republics.
