The Rudolfinum Gallery presents a project of strong creative sharing between British artist Antony Gormley and Czech architect and author of poetic texts Pavla Melková. Both Gormley and Melková aim to intensify our sensory perception of the places we inhabit and deepen our reflection on the ways we fill space and how we respond to the objects around us. Gormley's suggestive spatial installations and sculptures are framed by his drawings and immersive images of environmental perception created by Melková in her poetic texts. Their works thus jointly map and activate inner, perceptual, and architectural spaces.
The exhibition Antony Gormley / Pavla Melková is a continuation of the mutual artistic dialogue that began in Prague and previously culminated in the joint publication The Gravitational Field of the Unspeakable (KANT, 2022). Gormley and Melková now return to the city of their initial meeting.
