Instead of the usual tender process, which unfortunately still accounts for most public contracts in our country, the municipality of Chýně has opted for a path to find the highest quality architectural solution for the new school - through an international architectural competition.

The design of the new school, a building that is constructed approximately once every 300 years, will be selected this weekend by a jury consisting of architects Pavel Nasadil, Gabu Heindl from Austria, Martina Buřičová, and Ondřej Píhrt, along with municipal representatives, including Mayor Anna Chvojková, Deputy Mayor Petra Vacková, and Petr Štěpánek. For their evaluation meeting, which will begin on Friday, May 1, they have invited Jan Žemlička, a building environment specialist.

In Chýně, they hope to start the 2017/18 school year in the new school. The municipality has already received an approved grant from the Ministry of Finance from sub-program 298 213 "Support for the development and renovation of the materially technical base of regional schools in the vicinity of large cities." Right after the competition, negotiations will take place with the authors of the awarded designs so that the selected author team can begin working on their project and other design work during the summer.

A total of 61 designs were submitted to the international architectural competition for the new school in Chýně.

The results of the competition will be announced on May 13, 2015, in the meeting room of the Chýně municipal office at 5:00 PM, and an exhibition of the competition designs will also be opened alongside the announcement. You are cordially invited.
