The subject of the competition is to find the most suitable solution for a new primary school in Uhříněves.
The client places emphasis on a timeless, innovative, and multifaceted approach to the new school premises, which should maximally consider the principles of modern education and the effective use of school spaces outside of teaching. The new school is intended to be a friendly, safe, and well-functioning place not only for its primary users – children and teachers – but also for other residents of the urban district, whose public space should be thoughtfully complemented and significantly improved by its construction. The new school, with regard to the social responsibility of the client,
should create appropriate and dignified working conditions.
The total capacity of the school (number of students): 810.
The goal of the competition is to find a partner for Uhříněves who will seek a path to a better school environment through a comprehensive approach. The architectural solutions of the school should create conditions for progressive educational facilities that will stand the test of time. In addition to traditional methods, the school will emphasize innovative teaching methods.
This is related to the intertwining and openness of spaces, their possible connections with the exterior, etc. The school spaces should allow for greater variability according to different organizational forms of teaching, the current needs of the school, and possibly other local organizations.
The client's goal is to obtain a profitable design for the school that combines high aesthetic values with smart operational solutions and functional properties in the area of energy utilization, thus also ensuring optimal economic feasibility throughout the building's lifespan.
