New branch of the Library of the City of Olomouc on Trnkova Street

The subject of the competition is the solution for the placement of the Olomouc City Library branch in the original residential boiler house building in the housing estate, at the intersection of Trnkova, Zikova, and Rožňavská streets. The solution will include both the design of operational and spatial arrangements and the proposal for the library's integration into the life of the housing estate.
The library is not perceived here merely as a “storage of books,” but also as a community center. Thus, it is a place for meetings, sharing experiences, developing literacy, collaborating with nearby schools, meeting with parents and young readers, and hosting artistic workshops and discussions with regional personalities.

The chosen proposal will subsequently be elaborated into further stages of project documentation.
